The Nigerian U17 Women’s Team moved to the next round of 2020 U17 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, after they defeated Guinea 5-1 on Saturday.  

With the result, Nigeria have qualified for the next round following an 11-2 aggregate win over Guinea.

The Flamingoes have set up a tricky meeting with their Ghanaian counterparts in the next round of the qualifiers.

Speaking with the media, after the game Coach Bankole Olowookere assured all Nigerians of their readiness and play more better because a game with Ghana has always been a rivalry encounter which will makes it more tougher. 

" We have one more hurdle to cross, a very high hurdle, Ghana will be a very tough side and we would do our best to qualify for the world cup in India later this year. 

" We are working hard, training everyday to improve the team, it has not really been an easy job but we would never get tired because we are representing the whole Nigeria, we have to make them all proud by delivering the world cup ticket.

He further said, " Let me appreciate Ikeja Coaches Council for their unflinching support, "Sound Mind, in a Sound Body" they mould me, trained me and put me on the pathway of success. 

" It's good to be back home. I'm happy to see everyone happy, seeing me back home and winning convincingly, to say to all Nigerians that our away victory was never a fluke.

" The victory today is for all my Lagos fans and Ikeja coaches council, since my appointment they have displayed tremendous support through text messages and calls, they brought me out and they trained me, I'm representing them, also representing all other coaches in Nigeria.
