NPFL ROUND UP MATCH DAY 12: Twenty-Eight Goals Scored, Moses Effiong Hattrick For Dakkada, As Plateau Humiliates Enyimba In Jos

Plateau United have bounced back from a 3-0 thrashing at Abia Warriors to trounce champions Enyimba 4-0 and consolidate their leadership of the NPFL.

A massive crowd defied the cold in Jos to see Abba Umar plunder a brace as well as goals by Uche Onwuasonaya and Ibrahim Mustapha to consign Enyimba to their biggest loss for many seasons.

Plateau United have now recorded 24 points from 12 matches.

Lobi Stars regained second place after a 2-0 home win over Sunshine Stars.

They have 21 points from 11 matches, while Rivers United and Dakkada FC make up the other teams in the top four after brushing aside visiting Adamawa United at the Nest of Champions, Moses Effiong with hattrick.

Rivers United stopped the Olukoya Boys 2-0 in Portharcourt and Dakkada were truly at home after they humbled visiting Adamawa United 4-1 in Uyo.

Rivers United are third on 21 points, while Dakkada are on 20 points.

At the wrong end of the table, Kwara United moved out of relegation zone after a 2-0 home win over visiting Abia Warriors, while Jigawa Golden Stars dropped into the dreaded bracket after they lost 1-0 at home to Akwa United.

Again the match winner for Akwa United was returnee Akarandut Orok.

Enugu Rangers remain rooted to the bottom of the standings no thanks to a 2-1 loss at ‘Oriental’ rivals Heartland in Okigwe.

They have only managed six points in nine matches.
