Leading sports betting brand, Bet9ja have been given kudos for the development of grassroot football in Alimosho.

Ex-Nigerian soccer legend, Yisa Shofoluwe gave the commendation after Perculiar FC were crowned champions of the Bet9ja Alimosho Football Challenge at the weekend.

Perculiar FC defeated Prince Jay FC 4-2 on penalties after it ended 1-1 after an entertaining game at the Palace Ground in Igando.

“I’m impressed with what Bet9ja via its Super Agents in Alimosho have done for grassroot football. It’s with this kind of tourney you get the needed talents,” he stated.

Chairman of the Bet9ja Alimosho Super Agents, Azeez Yakubu shared his delight after he said: “Congratulations to the winners and teams that took part in the biggest football tourney in Alimosho Local Government .

“Like our slogan says, Bet9ja More than a Bet, this is a Community Social Responsibility and we’re glad that we have provided the platform for our grassroot players to showcase their skills, as the future is bright for every one of them.”

The championship Coordinator, Raheem Olasukunmi ROLAG thanked the 16 teams that took part in the tourney for showing maturity and spirit of sportsmanship.

He assured that the Season 2 of the Bet9ja Alimosho Football Challenge will be bigger and better package next year.

Players of Perculiar FC smiled home with the gold trophy and cash prize of #400,000 for emerging champions, while Prince Jay FC and Wilson FC got for #200,000 and #100,000 for coming second and third.

Perculiar FC coach, striker and shot stopper, Mboma Ahotin, Oluwasheyi Fikayo and Yusuf Salaudeen were named Best Coach, MVP and Golie respectively.

The Top scorer’s award was jointly won by Theophilus Amosun (FC Baggio) and Obasi Sunny (Citadel FC).

ROLAG FC and Citadel FC got the Fair Play award as well behaved team.

The best Referee, Deji Winjobi, second best goalkeeper, Balogun Ahmed (Prince Jay FC) and 2nd best player of the tournament Abdul Lawal of Prince Jay FC also got awards.
