Nigeria Amputee Football team also known as the "Special Eagles" began their 2019 Cup of Nations with a difficult 1-0 win over defending champions, Liberia at the Nac. Benguela stadium.

The six teams nation tournament which is taking place in Angola started with host nation Angola humiliating Tanzania by 6-1 while Sierra Leone were walk-overed by Tanzania in the results from other matches.

After a goalless first half,  Kelvin Kingsley broke the deadlock in the second half of the game when his effort beats the Liberian goalkeeper to put the Special Eagles in front.

Speaking after the game, team captain, Sarafadeen Olalekan Oyeleke revealed the game was difficult but they conquer their opponent due to the tactical instructions given to by the coach.

"Well we fought by committing the game to God and finally he gave us the victory."

"Thus it was really a tough match but due to all the technical and disciplinary rules set aside for us by the coaches we are able to win."

On the second game against Cameroon, Sarafadeen believes the team can get positive result from the game while urging Nigerians to continue supporting the team.

"I am optimistic that if we put in more effort we are going to have a good and positive result."

"All we needed from Nigerians is their prayers because i so much believe in God my creator."

Nigeria will battle Cameroon in the next game tomorrow at Ombaka stadium by 11am.
