The competition, sponsored by the Kwara state football Association, was used as part of events to mark Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq's one hundred days in office and also to further cement the unity among the sixteen local government in Kwara.
According to him, the tournament is the first of many grassroots developmental program soon to be floated by the body as they intend to reposition football.
The final, which was played in front of a large crowd at the main bowl of the Kwara state stadium complex, ended goaless during the opening half before Ilorin-East scored the solitary goal of the game in the 52nd minute of the game against Kaiama who had a player sent off in late stages of the encounter.

Earlier, Ilorin-West claimed the bronze medal after they outclassed Moro Local Government 4-1 in the
competition which spanned over ten days (26th August - 4th September).
During the closing ceremony, medals, cash prizes and trophy were presented to the outstanding teams where AbdulGaniyu Ibrahim from Kaiama emerged the most valuable player and Alagbagbe Ola Usman from Ilorin-West got the prize for the highest goal scorer award with seven goals.
Hussein Ibrahim (Ilorin-West) and Coach Jimoh Yaqub (Kaiama) carted home the best goalkeeper and Best coach award respectively.
Stakeholders and all local Governments, thanked the organisers for the opportunity given to the participants to showcase their talents and promised to co-operate with the FA in their bid to rebuild the credibility of football in Kwara during the colourful and well attended ceremony.
