Ultimate Football Academy of Omuko edged defending champions, Pro Leaguers 8-7 on penalties after a goalless ninety minutes to progress to the final of the competition.

The match which saw few chances came to life in the second half when the defending champions, Pro Leaguers grew into the game after a subdued first half performance but fell short of end result.

Ultimate Academy goalkeeper, Musa Usman was instrumental in keeping his side in the game after denying Pro Leaguers series of brilliant saves during the contest.

Substitute Doyin Olowoshaye could have won the game for Pro Leaguers after he faced Usman with the last chance of the game but the young shot stopper was up to the task to send the game to shootouts.

Samson Samuel who took the first spot-kick for Ultimate Academy fires over the cross after Ichu Lordson has put Pro Leaguers ahead. But Silas Abubakar missed the second round, while Abiola Alayade scored to level things up.

Every other players converted until the ninth round when Adeshina Abdullateef's spot-kick for the defending champions was gathered by Usman and Okedare Jamiu scored to send Ultimate into the final of the tournament.

Ultimate Football Academy will face Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL  Allstars who defeated La Planet Sport academia earlier in the day.

Both finalists had met earlier in the group stage of the competition and played out a 2-2 draw.

The final which will be decided on Sunday at the Main Bowl of Kwara State Stadium will be used to settle scores between both sides.
