This Nigeria Football Federation mayhem started back in 2014, certain elements did not want the incumbent Football Federation President Amaju Pinnick with the support of the Sport Minister Solomon Dalung to contest or return to power a second term come September 29, 2018 in Katsina. 

Both Ambassador Chris Giwa and Amaju Melvin Pinnick contested their elections under the FIFA Statutes and the FIFA Electoral Code. Not under any Nigerian law, as there is no law in Nigeria providing for elections into the Nigeria Football Federation, Only the NFF/FIFA Statutes/Electoral Code.

Speaking with the Owner and Chief Executive Officer of Y.G Football Club Yusuf Garuba about the tsunami that has hit the football house in recent time, having two president in power is really a disaster and not helping our football in any way and we risk FIFA ban from any football activities,

Yusuf Garuba said "The recent leadership tussle in the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is really sad. It is a case of when two elephants fight, the grass suffers. The personalities in this crisis have nothing to lose but the players, coaches, grass-root clubs and even the sporting press.

"In my candid opinion as one who's been in sports business for more than 15 years, I boldly will say it's not healthy for our football development and it could give  us a bad image at the international level."

"There's no way you talk about African football without making references to Nigeria as we have the talents and technical know how, this has seen us achieve so much they have made.

"This is why FIFA is been critical about Nigeria, once it gets banned it bad business for everyone in the football industry. All the national teams, male and female can feature in any organized CAF or FIFA championships.

"The future of the coaches and players will now hang in the balance as Nigeria football will be in a stand still. The foreign agents or their clients back here in Nigeria can't scout the good players in our domestic league."

Asked if he intends vying for a position in the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), "It's something good but opportunity matter. I'll intend giving my best if I get the nod to be in the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) as I have seen it all over the years I have been in this industry. 

"I have travelled to over 23 countries in the world, Asia, Europe and Africa. I have seen a lot how football is being run, so for me it would be a call to service if elected."
